Tempest said he was going to post about this to RGB but it looks like he "forgot" to. I wanna write this down before i forget because its too damn funny. It all started one night about a week ago or so when bers,temp and I are sitting around waiting for a fourth. Naturally with temp being there some spit talking ensued, mainly concerning Bers's "dodging" temp and not playing him in a 1x1. Eventually the discussion became rather animated and basically Temp said "If either of you are a man youll 1x1me" (or something to that effect). At this point enter our fourth player, a guy who has been playing just recently, a rather raw newbie. To protect the innocent we will call this player "catgirl". AT this point Temp is rather fired up and challenges bers and I to a 2x2, with "catgirl" being Temps ally. Bers and I ally and SIMULTANEOUSLY message each other that we should let Tempest win and make it look really good. Well the game was on chew toy 3 and there were many hilarious highlights. We almost won despite our determined efforts to lose. Being a legendary lgm killer we decided wed lob in softball spikes for tempest to kill and steal the pill. Well lets say that Temps aim was a little off. It actually got ot the point where we had them spiked out of their last corner (not intended). It culminated in Bers sending his man across the map (and about 5 miles of craters) to build a pill in front of the base Temp was sitting on. Well temp missed and only some creative flailing on our parts did we manage to unspike their corner. "Catgirl" didnt help either. More than once did "catgirl"carrying pills and prolly with only a few points of armor charge me. With Temp watching I had to at least put a few shots into "catgirl" and unfortunately kill him and have to take his pills. Eventually catgirl became the star of the show. He figured out that having full armor helped out a bit when it came to dueling. He killed me and took some pills and Temp messaged "WAY TO GO CATGIRL!!!". Well we eventually manged to turn the tide against us (AT one point I shot Bers man 3 times in a row). You could tell by his messages to catgirl that Temp was working himself up into a fever pitch (e.g. "GO TAKE THEIR BASES!!!" or "KILL BERS HE'S CARRYING!!!"). We eventually quit in a feigned huff citing lag BS and such and started a new game. Temp shows up and hes puffed out like a peacock. Needless to say we deflated him quick. Disbeleif gave way to shock which gave way to laughter. I seriously was in pain from laughing so hard. Temp was a great sport about it. It was poetic justice that both Bers and I played terribly for some time following that game. Hence, I often use the prase: Put Up or Shuddup....1x1 right now... to taunt my opposition and because I love 1x1 games against tough oponents. Anyway, Berzerkir won't play me 1x1--but he will shit talk heh. So we always have these long bull sesssions before the game. This time one backfired.... Since he won't play me 1x1, I challenge Berz and Soup (my old trainee eh) to play me 2x2 with a newbie ally...correction (Catgirl-the ally from hell) Years ago, I used to be able to win games like that! Snip was the begining of my 2 versus (me plus a newbie) craze for challenges. Hell, we beat some notable teams 2 1/2 years ago. Anyway, the game starts off remarkably. I feul up and get my bases--and then get damn near incinerated as CatGirl suicides into a nearbye pill. (doing about 5 shots of damage to it too) I am busy fueling and soup wisks in with a long distance spike---I drop it cold before it plants....then berz wisks in with another shorter range spike--I drop it too but have to use up all my ammo trying to kill him afterwards. Naturally I am feeling rather cocky--hell they no builders us 2 pills we might win this one.....but worried about my ally and the insuing base rape soup and berz would put up against us--I plant on defense--one in CatGirl's corner one in mine. Through a remarkable manuver--catgirl shoots my man when I am placing to protect her corner. Berz and Soup collect 4 pills before I get my man back and proceed to spike Cat Girl with one and then me with the other 3. Instead of spiking at max range (to reduce chance of builder kills) they "lazySpike" and send them in as close to my tank as possible.....athough their intent was to be easy--this is probably the most effective way to spike me (since I am on a 2 key only keyboard) I can't shorten range shoot and turn at the same time. I miss each of the three spikes by what feels like half a square---only getting berz and soup's builders when they are planting their last respective spikes. Needless to say --a grumpfying situation. Catgril meanwhile has drained our only unspiked base of all ammo and suicided into the pill in his corner barely damaging it but completely taking down our pill protecting the corner. "ARRRRRG" Soup and berz get their men back as I get ammo--what insues is a strange burst of hyper spike activity in my quad and continuous dueling in CatGirls. Berz and Soup coordinate against me taking pills --far faster than I can unspike myself--but they take half of their wins and suicide into CatGirl (off screen from me) To me it looks like CatGirl is finally finding a use for her ammo...."WAY TO GO CAT GIRL come here....heh nice getting those pills" Soup and Berz continue to keep up this farce--of deliberately loosing pills to my ally while they attack me with full skill. You can imagine how exstatic I am becoming---what the hell the ally from hell is taking shitloads of pills and then dieing neary me while I am getting my quad double teamed by these monsters. Soup and Berz's men keep dieing nearly continuously--I can't tell if my ally is shooting them or what the heck is going on....Nasty names are getting exchanged between Berz and Soup (some stuff you wouldn't belive) Almost tempest level cursing about lag bullshit is continuously flowing accross the screen. The "noise" reminds me of ancient victories against mid level opponents in 2x1 and in (2x me plus a newbie) I think to myself "---damn we might win this one"--berz'll have to play me 1x1 after this smashing evidence for shit talk. Soup and Berz take pills from me nearly as fast CatGirl is delivering them. Finally I clear the middle and create a convoluted pill war on CatGirls corner. For some reason the chat on IRC has picked up quit a bit...but only berz and sluggo were active "hmmm" In an amazing manuver that looks like it was completely intentional CatGirl comes into range of the whole pill wall just as Soup is attempting a take--our semi angry pills incinerate soup and berz's entire pill war and turn soup's tank into a huge fireball right in the middle--total dead pills on screen 8. Berz drives in and attempts to pick up but gets stuck in the crater and dies just as he is exiting...leaving me free and clear to pick up....our side now has the sum total of all pills..... I start to slowly move out to the middle bases preparing for the spike out....and Soup Quits after a burst of swearing and cursing...followed by berz... (conversation reconscructed and not entirely accurate) Tempest: Way to Go Catgirl... *I rejoin berz and soup* Berz: We Let You Win! Tempest: Bullshit! Berz: scroll back on irc... Tempest: Bullshit, besides I am using a windows client...
