IBL Summer '96 Season Announcement

Greetings Internet Bolo League players!

Hope you've been enjoying your summer so far.  It's time now for the news
you've all been waiting for... Summer IBL!  This 4th season will start on
Sunday the 2nd and Monday the 3rd.  This will be the first of 10 weeks. 
The format will be essentially the same as before, with the following
change to prevent games from being ruined by lag.

If you want to play on a given night, show up on #ibl on CliffaNet
(ray.abo.fi) *before* 7:45 pm Eastern Daylight Time.  This is 15 minutes
earlier than usual, which gives us time to ask those potentially within
the same division to test their networks together.  In other words, based
on whoever is there at 7:45, we will form tentative divisions and
privately /msg those people to check their networks.  Ideally, you should
get there even earlier to test your own network anyway, by joining as many
people from as many different places as possible, just to be sure your net
is OK that night.

At 8 pm EDT, we will announce the divisions as before.  We have been able
to keep to within 5 minutes of this deadline the last few weeks, and with
your cooperation in showing up earlier, hope to get it down to 8 pm
exactly.  Last season we dumped a few people who showed up at the last
minute, so please don't try to cut it too close.

Please evangelize IBL in your private games and on #bolo.  Recruit those
summer newbies and returning vets!  The more people we have, the better
the games will be.
