General articles of possible interest
Like everybody, I've found some useful info on the internet. Since my list of bookmarks is getting out of hand, I've decided to convert some of the more interesting stuff into nice PDF articles.
Note, though, that these articles aren't mine, the copyright belongs to the authors - I just converted them into PDF...
General Stuff
Here we find general texts. Since I try to keep things orderly but am lazy at the same time, you'll only find one article here so far:| How to Shoot Yourself in the Foot, using different computer languages. | Many texts exist to this amusing theme, so I collected all I could find, creating a single PDF file. Rather fittingly, I then lost the original tex file, thus no, I cannot fix the ']' bug in the LaTeX part... |
Game Help
There are a few very nice games, to which a good game guide is much appreciated, at least by me:| Galactic Civilizations II: Beginners Strategy Guide | A slightly older article, which I collected together with the best comments written about it. Written by Draginol, this is a very good beginners guide to a truly excellent game, which I cannot recommend highly enough. |
| Plants vs Zombies: The Ultimate Survival Endless Guide | Get ready to soil your plants! Written by Draco89123, here we have a most useful guide to a very cute and massively time-wasting game. The guide assumes you know the game already (there are long and, in my unhumble opinion, rather boring and needless guides to this), and teaches you about the final challenge instead: how long can you survive the Survival Endless? This is v2, much more Data and much less disk space :) |
Artificial Intelligence
AI is a stunningly fascinating field, interesting enough that I'm actually writing a book about it.| The Death of the Level Designer | Written in January 2008, this is an article about level design - not the first thing to cross your mind when you think about AI ;-) |
| Unangband Monster AI | Written at the end of 2007, here's a very interesting text on creating AI for the monsters in the game Unangband, a dungeon-crawling roguelike game available on several platforms. |
