¶ ROWS OF MONOTYPE display type in the case. Giampa used a system that was unusual in the trade. He distributed his types into rows in the cases. The types were lined up for quickest assembly into a type stick. No thought was required to determine if the character was business end up.
In these days Giampa ran a 100 per cent 'non distribution' Lanston Monotype System. That is why the type cases are full and all characters are new. Used type went the way of the 'Hell Box'.
