¶ HELSINKI HARBOUR is full of sailing ships. The smell of tar permeates the spring air.
The Russian Orthodox church seen on the hill overlooking the inner Helsinki harbour. This church sometimes attracts bitter comments from Finnish citizens. The church is beautiful.
The Nikolai II, a 1903 ex-steam passenger ships stern is seen behind the bowsprit of the Estel, a Finnish Coffee Sailing Ship.
As most of you know, there are very few cargo ships still plying the oceans. This vessel is not a "pretty sight " for "yachty types". For me she has many appeals.
The smell of Coffee and tar would be only two of them.
