¶ WHAT DO FISH BASKETS have to do with typogaphy? Everything! Uncle Doug's fish basket was always waiting for the early morning trek to the fishing hole.
Now that's important.
I was interested in repetitive designs in structure. Such as the weaving of the basket, the tying of flies, the repeating of rectangles in the fish net, fish scales.
Here you can see the stem of a peacock feather protruding from the top hole in the basket lid. I had become interested in ornament in nature, fabric, nets, reflections. Even today I claim to "find design".
I argue that ornament is function. Or as the Italians say, "bait and switch".
