LANSTON'S FRONT STREET

I LANSTON TYPE COMPANY I GERALD GIAMPA I

LANSTON'S FRONT STREET of the Lanston studio and warehouse in Mount Stewart in Prince Edward Island. The early access was water, the lane behind became known as the 'Back Street'.

Mount Stewart was a bustling sailing ship building town in early days. Nothing much happens there now, certainly not shipbuilding. Products from the jaws of gossip mongers was the most notable industry. Granny abuse was the local sport. That and other gold digging pastimes. The women must have thought they lived in the Yukon. A fireman reported to me that Mount Stewart had more arson than the rest of the Island in total. Could be just more gossip?

However.

MANY OYSTER DORYMEN ply the river. They have a peculiar and interesting manner of speaking. There are also many seals, eagles, muskrats. The mighty duck hunters slaughter flocks as quickly as they can. People have too much time on their hands.

It is unclear as to how long Giampa intends to stay on the island. He is not planting his five thousand gladioli this year. We think he is up to something.

THE VIEW THAT COMES TO YOU?
THE BEST VIEW IN MOUNT STEWART

THE LANSTON TYPE COMPANY enjoyed the best view in Mount Stewart turned tourist location. The Hillsborough River is a Canadian Heritage River. Wild iris are to be found throughout the marshes. We were almost at the mouth. The old railway had been turned into walking paths.

This property had been once owned by Simon Fraser, explorer. Also this sight was the battlefield where the English drove the French from Prince Edward Island.

The French "owe" the English "a really big thank you".
