Suite of fleurons
¶ WATER GARDEN FLEURONS have retained traditional values without over intention. These printers' fleurons exude strawberry freshness in classical compositions. I did not design them with any particular market in mind. In fact they were not designed for marked. They were designed for myself.
My own work.
I am very happy that others have found value in Water Garden Fleurons. They have sold steadily. Remember there are no rules in typography about printers' fleurons. It is a playground of both freedom and peril.
There is a certain amount of familiarization required in using any printers' fleurons. However, with these I have overcome most problems by using a logical key cap arrangement. Remember, however, they are more complex than some others on account of their multi-colouring feautures.
Historically the hallmark of typographical excellence was the judicious use of ornament.
