What's new on IBL home page?
This is meant to highlight changes to the home page, so you can quickly
find out what has changed since your last visit. Changes are listed in
reverse chronological order.
- 2/16/97: The Middlebury players take over IBL!
Fall 96 stuff archived to a separate directory
in preparation for new Spring 97 season.
- 2/14/97: The informative stuff on the IBL page is unified with the
Official Bolo Home Page now hosted at Duke!
- 9/5/96: Binaries directory now includes QuickTime movies and other
- 10/4/96: Summer 96 stuff archived to a separate directory in preparation
for new Fall 96 season.
- 9/5/96: Binaries directory now includes QuickTime movies and other
kewl stuff like my starter pak.
- 9/1/96: Completely new Apache server software on deckard, our SPARC 20
workstation, which should be even faster than before.
All IBL URLs no longer require that annoying ":8080" part. Also try the
fully redundant server http://tyrell.mc.duke.edu/~jyl/IBL/ on a Pentium Pro dual 200 MHz workstation.
- 6/10/96: Added update date to the ratings. More changes to the scripts'
appearance to make it easier to understand the effect of each game on
one's ratings.
- 5/24/96: Lots of artistic changes which are subtle but help to clean
up appearance of the pages. Also added some features to speed loading
of graphics.
- 5/20/96: Archived spring 96 news and ratings to a different page in
preparation for new summer 96 season.
- 5/19/96: Main page miscellaneous links changed to table format.
Many improvements to the FAQs, both my original short one and the new
official rec.games.bolo long FAQ.
- 4/26/96: Modified list format on main page, results in slightly more
legible "miscellaneous links". Added "Bolo Guides" section to host
Samhain's strategy guide and other links.
- 4/2/96: Slightly different format in live feedback in ratings, which
facilitates direct copy/paste for usenet/email/html. More prominent
links to previous ratings and full ratings in the ratings page.
- 3/27/96: Bug in game reporting script corrected. The kappa factor may
have been wrong on the web script, thus exaggerating/downplaying whatever
point gain/loss you really had. The actual ratings were calculated
separately and correctly with a C program and were thus not affected.
- 3/22/96: Ratings now only show those players who have showed up at least
once in the past 4 weeks. The other players are still kept in IBL,
with their ratings intact, but we no longer bother to list them in the
rankings.
- 3/11/96: Cosmetic improvements to CGI forms -- addition of "reset"
buttons, removal of borders around button palettes at bottom.
In current ratings, active players still shown in dark red, but
those absent the previous week now dimmed so you can filter them out
visually.
Short FAQ now html-ized for newbies' benefit.
- 3/7/96: Old ratings of players now shown in new section in News.
- 3/6/96: Fixed backgrounds on some pages which were coming up green/blue
on some browsers. Slight changes to other colors for readability.
- 3/4/96: Live game outcome report is now fully operational. You may
use either the short form (such-and-so went 0-3) or the long form for
game-by-game reporting, just because you want to, or because you need to
(such as when there are ties or unplayed games).
