PC & MACINTOSH FONT FORMATS I LANSTON TYPE COMPANY I DIGITAL FONT I AMERICAN CASLON ITALIC ¶ AMERICAN CASLON was an adaption of New Caslon by American Typefounders, later offered by Linotype® even later by Intertype. These cuttings are all based on Lanston Monotype Machine Companies cutting of New Caslon for the Inland Printer. Lanston also released American Caslon. American Caslon ascenders are longer than New Caslon otherwise the face is identical. American Caslon Italic, as does the roman, includes both oldstyle and lining figures along with a full compliment of ligatures and tied characters.
