GRANJON PRINTERS' FLEURONS
I LANSTON TYPE COMPANY I GERALD GIAMPA I ¶ NEWSPRINT PROOF of a work in progress, another proof is shown on the following page. Gerald Giampa used this form for different fleuron arrangements. However, all were children of the same type form. One very long-on-going work-in-progress metamorphosed into completely different arrangements used for different purposes, or excuses for putting ink on paper. |
FLEURONS CUT WITH GRAVURE
¶ THESE PRINTERS' FLEURONS are composed of 18 pt. units of lead. This is a newsprint proof pulled from a proof press. I have cut some portions of the lead types away with a gravure to define the colour areas to avoid, what I call, visual blocking. |
