PRINTERS' FLEURONS
I LANSTON TYPE COMPANY I GERALD GIAMPA I
¶ I WISH I WAS AS YOUNG as I was in this picture. I suppose I was about thirty-seven.
I still have an incredible love for the industry. In my semi-retirement years I have suffered from some extremely disheartening personal events including a tidal wave that destroyed my possessions. My yacht sinking, what else? Near death in a hospital, exploding boats?
What I enjoyed mostly was my own work. The creative stuff I mean. Better than all those disasters that's for sure.
So I hope you will look past my industrial side and be a little receptive to my work. My work made me feel like a little kid in a toy box. Those little books, the fleuron arrangements, I got a big bang out of making them.
