I LANSTON TYPE COMPANY I GERALD GIAMPA I
¶ SUMNER STONE in the Lanston Punch Cutting Department. Stone was Director of Typography for Adobe Systems Incorporated. His work as a type designer includes ITC Stone, Stone Print, Silica, Arepo, Cycles, Basalt and SFPL typeface families.
Also he wrote 'On Stone: The Art and Use of Typography on the Personal Computer'.
Today he has his own independent digital foundry, Stone Type Foundry Inc. He offers fonts for sale and takes on commissions. He is sought after for speaking engagements for typographical audiences.
Stone has a well founded mathematical background. He is a graphic designer, calligrapher and type designer. His works and success speak loudly for him. The name Stone has become a household word in the desktop and typographic industries.

¶ THE ON GOING SAGA of the type designer. New formats, or in this case a new, old format. It's just one big chronic headache after another.
For reasons only he could explain, Stone was comfortable with the nuts and bolts of this old type technology.
