THE 'BRAIN CENTRE' in the Pender Street location of the Lanston Type Library. The skylit loft contained historical records for the punchcutting department including internal memos between Sol Hess and Frederic Goudy.

Anything not to be found here could probably be found in the Smithsonian Institute.

The old Lanston Monotype Machine Company records occupied a lot of real estate. A solid row ran the length of the plant on the upper loft.
