¶ THE FIRST EDITION of Gerald Giampa's typographical journal 'The Fount'. It was hand-set and letterpressed on Curtis Tweedweave in an edition of approximately seven hundred copies.
Shown here is the cover of the first issue of 'The Fount'. This issue became the reason to put a lot of ink on newsprint. The newspapers had a field day with it. This was the "big book war".
'The Fount™' (The font) is Giampa's personal typographical journal and was printed in large volume press runs in newspaper format. The Fount will now be published on this web site.
There is more to this story. Later more will be written as delicately as possible so as not to open any old wounds.
