¶ JEFFERSON GOTHIC, NO. 227 is an adaptation of News Gothic Extra Condensed drawn by Sol Hess in 1916. Particularly noticable are the unusual "additions" of alternate round capitals. This face is also known by some as News Gothic Extended Condensed ™
Jefferson Gothic was one of the faces that Robert Norton was hoping to include when Microsoft® entered the font business.
