Article 161 [ top | bottom ] Subject: BuilderKiller 2000 v0.1d0 available From: chdillon@ucla.edu (Charles H. Dillon) Date: 1996/08/29 BuilderKiller 2000 v0.1d0 is available at This latest version adds support for autoslowdown (HB mode). BuilderKiller 2000 is a Bolo brain which allows you to control the tank until an enemy builder comes into firing range, at which time it takes over control and eliminates the offending builder. BuilderKiller 2000 will not take over the tank if there are incoming shots, or if the CAPS LOCK key is engaged. Still to come: Jolo mode. slubbo

Dillon) Date: 1996/08/31 The most recent version of my evil builder killing borg, BuilderKiller 2000, is available at: This is a minor bug fix, which corrects a problem with autoslowdown when switching windows in the previous version. Thanks to Dave Merrill for pointing out the bug. slugbo

At this point he is left with an empty base and won't be able to refuel from it for a while. Also, since the base will take some time to regenerate its armor, you can just come back later and recapture it when you have enough armor and ammo to kill him off. Instead of using your remaining ammo dogfighting over a base you have already killed, you could use it to weaken another of his bases, so that you could come back after refuelling and kill two of his bases. Soon enough he will be starved for ammo and you will be able to taunt him and call him silly names. slutto

I, and anyone who has tried to play a Bolo game with me in the last year or two can attest that CERF is a bottomless pit for Bolo packets. You may occasionally get a decent connection late at night or on a weekend sometime, but for the most part you will have a very difficult time playing Bolo with a connection going through CERF. slaggo

The more neutral pillboxes you capture, the better you will be at Bolo. Also, once you have captured a few neutrals, you should always carry them with you so that you can use 2 pills to take one more neutral, while leaving your bases unprotected. This is what strategy is all about. slugtego
